Dervaig
Posted on May 11th, 2007 by Map Master
Nestling in the north of the island of Mull, the village of Dervaig is only eight miles from the island capital of Tobermory.
Although small, the village is the hub of the local community and offers a place to relax, in a tranquil setting while being within easy reach of food or a drink, or perhaps a night at the theatre, as Dervaig is home to the famous Mull Theatre.
Wildlife and forestry walks abound making Dervaig a great starting place if a wildlife watching experience is what you are after, while for one weekend in October each year the narrow, twisting island roads are closed and rally cars rocket round on both tarmac and forest sections, with the Dervaig/Tobermory road a firm favourite for competitors and spectators alike.

Looked in vain for a representation of Dervaig on the linked map. Includes a couple of smaller villages. Why no sketch of one of the prettiest?
